World ( The cow news digital ) Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has said that Islamabad played a diplomatic role in easing recent regional tensions and conveyed strong assurances to Iran regarding Pakistan’s close relationship with Saudi Arabia.
Addressing the International Message of Islam Conference in Islamabad, Dar stated that Pakistan had actively worked to prevent escalation between involved parties during periods of heightened instability in the Middle East. He claimed that Islamabad emphasized to Iran that Pakistani citizens stand firmly with Saudi Arabia, underscoring what he described as the depth of bilateral relations between the two countries.
According to Dar, Pakistan also made it clear that Saudi Arabia holds a special strategic position for the country, warning against any hostile perception or intent directed toward the kingdom. He reiterated that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia share long-standing ties, which he said have now been further strengthened through recent defense-related understandings.
The foreign minister referred to ongoing regional tensions involving Iran and Israel, stating that Pakistan encouraged restraint and dialogue among concerned parties. He added that during the crisis, efforts were made to reduce hostilities and promote a ceasefire, which he said Islamabad helped facilitate through diplomatic engagement.
Dar also expressed hope that temporary ceasefire arrangements between the United States and Iran could evolve into a more durable peace framework. He stressed that Pakistan’s foreign policy priorities include safeguarding broader Muslim interests while maintaining strong and cooperative relations with all Islamic countries, including Iran and Saudi Arabia.
Highlighting Pakistan’s diplomatic stance, he said the country seeks balanced relations in the region and does not support escalation or confrontation. He further emphasized that Pakistan’s role is focused on peacebuilding and mediation rather than alignment with conflict dynamics.
In his remarks, Dar also referred to Pakistan’s national resilience and unity in the face of external pressures, stating that the country cannot be intimidated or undermined. He reiterated that Pakistan’s sovereignty and strategic interests remain protected and respected.
The statement reflects Pakistan’s continued effort to balance relations with key regional powers while positioning itself as a diplomatic actor in Middle Eastern geopolitical developments.
